Step 5. Manage Your Award

Once a notice of award (NOA) is issued, OSP reviews the award terms and conditions and works with the Principal Investigator (PI) and the PI's department to establish the project in the University's systems. If a sponsor sends an award notice directly to the PI, it should be forwarded immediately to OSP to ensure proper processing and compliance with University requirements.

The NOA marks the transition from pre-award activities to post-award management. This phase includes financial oversight, compliance with sponsor and University requirements, progress reporting, and stewardship of the project's resources.

This section is intended to help you understand your post-award responsibilities and to guide you through the processes required to manage your award effectively.
