About Us
The Office of Sponsored Projects (OSP), originally known as Cooperative Research, was established in 1951 to support the University in soliciting and administering research grants and contracts from governmental agencies, and private foundations, and industry partners.
Vision
OSP provides expertise that supports research growth and exceptional stewardship of sponsored programs. We foster strong and collaborative relationships through integrity, outstanding service, and effective communication.
We enhance efficiency and promote compliance in research administration through innovation and the strategic use of technology.
What we do
OSP serves as a central resource for faculty, staff, and students engaged in research and sponsored-project activities. Our responsibilities include:
- Proposal Review & Submission
We review, endorse, and submit proposals on behalf of the University. - Compliance & Policy Guidance
We interpret and help ensure adherence to University policies, sponsor requirements, award terms and conditions, and applicable federal and state regulations. - Award Management Support
We assist in managing awards funded by federal and state agencies, foundations, industry, and other public and private sponsors. - Agreement Negotiation
We draft, negotiate, and execute sponsored agreements and subawards on behalf of the University.
