For most federal grant and cooperative agreement awards, advance sponsor approval is required in the following circumstances:- Re-budgeting
- No-Cost Extensions
- Supplemental Funding Requests
- Substantive Changes to Proposed Research
- Change of PI
- Absence of PI
- Institutional Grant Transfer
- Equipment not in the Original Budget
- Subcontracts not in the Original Budget
