Sexual Harassment Prevention
The University of Utah requires that all new employees complete training that addresses sexual harassment through mandatory orientation provided by Human Resources. Additional courses dealing with sexual harassment are also offered through the Bridge Learning Library in CIS. Customized training for students, departments, and university programs is available from the Office of Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action (OEO) by request.
Free & confidential victim services can be accessed through the Center for Student Wellness and additional resources can be found at safe.utah.edu.
Federal sponsor sexual harassment policies:
- NIH Anti-Sexual Harassment Policy
- NSF Policy on Sexual Harassment
- NASA Term and Condition regarding Sexual Harassment, Other Forms of Harassment, and Sexual Assault
These policies require that the University report allegations of sexual harassment or assault. They also require that the University share any allegations, findings, or determinations against personnel supported by NIH or NSF funding. The authorized organization tasked with taking these reports and submitting information to NIH and NSF is the OEO.
