National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Research Security Training Requirement - Effective August 5, 2026

Update: During the June 25 - August 31 transition period, applicants may use either the Word fillable forms or the SciENcv-generated forms. September 1st onward, only SciENcv forms will be accepted.

In accordance with Grant Information Circular (GIC) 26‑02: Research Security Training Requirements, NASA will implement a new requirement beginning August 5, 2026.

NASA has announced a transition period for its biographical sketch and current and pending (other) support disclosure forms. From June 25 through August 31, 2026, applicants may submit these forms using either:
  • The existing Microsoft Word fillable templates, or
  • The new SciENcv-generated forms.

Beginning September 1, 2026, NASA will require the use of SciENcv-generated forms only, and Word-based forms will no longer be accepted.

Starting on August 5, 2026, all covered individuals named on NASA grant and cooperative agreement proposals must attest that they have completed research security training prior to proposal submission. This attestation will be made by signing a certification included in the following required proposal documents:

  • NASA Biographical Sketch
  • Current and Pending (Other) Support Forms

To support your preparation, NASA has provided advance copies of the updated NASA Biographical Sketch Form and Current & Pending (Other) Support Form that will be required beginning August 5, 2026. The new research security training attestation is clearly highlighted within these documents.

Important Reminder:

NASA is implementing a transition period for disclosure forms:

  • June 25-August 31, 2026: Applicants may use either:
    • The existing Word fillable forms, or
