NIH Loan Repayment Programs

The congressionally-established National Institute of Health Loan Repayment Programs (NIH LRP) help repay the outstanding student loans of researchers who are or will be conducting nonprofit biomedical or behavioral research. Successful applicants will have up to $100,000 annually of qualified educational debt repaid by the NIH in return for a commitment to engage in NIH mission-relevant research.  

The online application period is September 1, 2022 through November 17, 2022 (5pm local time). See the application process interactive roadmap.
