As a new investigator, it's important to become familiar with the research landscape at the University. Please review our orientation material for information helpful to new and incoming investigators.Our website is the primary location for information and links related to all aspects of the Grants Life Cycle. Take some time to look through the Grants Life Cycle as well as the Resources section of the OSP website.

In addition to the resources on the right, investigators may find the tools below helpful.

  • The Office of Undergraduate Research provides funding, publication and more. The Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program funds students up to $600/semester for two semesters of research, most departments have research-for-credit programs, and we have a number of publication and presentation options for student researchers as well.
  • With Find-A-Researcher you can search by name, keyword, etc. to find collaborators, specialized equipment, etc. This site has been greatly enhanced by linking to the Faculty Activity Reports. To be found within the searches, update your Faculty Profile. Read more in Collaboration.
  • Uspace is the University of Utah's open access institutional repository. Uspace collects and archives intellectual articles, papers, research and other scholarly endeavors.
  • Google Scholar provides a simple way to broadly search for scholarly literature. The University of Utah specific Google Scholar Tutorial walks you through how to use Google Scholar.
  • Looking for new equipment on campus? Find equipment that is already on campus but not fully utilized here.
