The new negotiated Facilities and Administration (F&A) rates are now in place for fiscal years 2016-2019. These rates are applied against the Modified Total Direct Costs (MTDC) of a contract/grant
in order to cover the overhead costs incurred to support research.
These new rates reflect actual expenditures on research support, as evaluated by the DHHS. The rates will apply to new or new-continuation contracts/grants awarded for funding on or after July 1, 2016. Existing contracts/grants will still use the old rates set up with the project.
The VPR will be holding an "F&A Town Hall Meeting" on March 24, 2016 at 3-4pm in the INSCC Auditorium to address specific questions about the new rates, or about thier impact on your college/department.
